Our B&B is based in a rural house in Los Rios, Almedinilla, a small village near the town of Priego de Cordoba. Our suggestions give you an idea of the places to visit within easy reach of Casa La Nuez.

Nearby cities to visit

The 3 main Moorish cities of Andalucia are Granada, Cordoba and Sevilla. All are unique to visit and offer different cultural experiences.

GRANADA
A visit to Andalucia has to include a trip to the wonderful city of Granada, famous for the Alhambra, Moorish architecture, the Albaicin and Sacromento gypsy quarters, flamenco dancing and Moorish baths. If you wish to know more about the city and what you would like to visit, then have a look at www.granadainfo.com to find out all you need to know. If you wish to visit the Alhambra, you MUST buy tickets in advance at www.ticketmaster.es

CORDOBA
Cordoba boasts a rich historical background with many treasures to visit including the grand mosque of Cordoba (La Mezquita), the historic quarter including La Juderia (Jewish quarter), museums and the wonderful May festival of the patios. The wealth of treasures has now meant that Cordoba has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage city and is a nominee for the 2016 European City of Culture. Cordoba is a small city and most attractions are within walking distance in the city centre. If you would like to know more about Cordoba visit www.cordoba24.info.

SEVILLE
Easily reached from Casa La Nuez by AVE train direct from Puente Genil station within one hour, Seville is a gem of a city, with a wide variety of Moorish palaces, cathedrals and churches, museums and gardens, Seville is a must for an Andalucian holiday.

Other touristic attractions

Next to the three big cities a visit to Priego de Cordoba goes without saying. Starting from Casa La Nuez you reach this somewhat smaller gem in fifteen minutes. It is considered to be among the ten most beautiful cities in Spain.

And you should not forget Antequerra. After an hours drive you reach this ancient Moorish fortress with its historic castle. Though less intact than the Alhambra in Granada, those interested in Moorish history in the south of Spain will be delighted after a visit.

Like to walk? Then go to Caminito del Rey. Since being inaugurated in April 2015 this spectacular trail through the famous gorge near Alora quickly became an absolute top attraction. You can have a look here : www.caminitodelrey.info If you want to go make your reservations upfront because usually tickets are sold out.
